The Snow Is Rare This Year

BUT IT’S FUN ANYWAY
Went up to BIG SKY to visit some friends. It’s nice to get out of town and away from all the stinky snowmobiles.
The snowfall this year is way below normal, and catastrophic prognostications abound: the trout will all die, the world will burn up, the beetles will eat the whole forest, etc. I’ll wait and see.
We built a snow-woman for fun, and then had some dinner. The lubricity of our very epitomes demanded an after dinner romp. So we all romped.
I drove back this morning on the icy roads and saw some moose and coyotes in the park. I stopped and watched some cross country skiers in the meadows at Fan Creek and imagined that it was green, 70 degrees, and worth fishing.
Well it’s time to update the Yellowstone pages. They have to be done for spring and the seminars. Most are uploaded and just need to be annotated or the references completed. The volcanic stuff is growing as rapidly as the air quality stuff. Just have to push ahead.
There is, however, one page posted that is not in the sidebar widget: Geologic History (pg. 2)

Love the snow,
We got some tonight, blew a little, not enough snow. Dire predictions unless we approach normal. And then, “normal” will be low because of the sliding average.
