  • .. Invasive Species

A CULTURAL TERM WITH LITTLE MEANING

There is such sillyness about the way we use language. Get enough people to use a word or phrase and we’re liable to believe it means something. When people use the terms ‘Invasive Species’ and “Exotic Species’ they really mean “Things we as a culture don’t like.”

All life is invasive! That’s how it works. That’s how it succeeds. Adaptive radiation is, by definition, invasive. Moving into new environments and ecological niches is the way ’successful’ species continue their existence. The human species is a classic example. Soon, geologically speaking, humans will have to leave the planet – or perish.

For the moment this page is a place holder. Go to the INVASIVE SPECIES section for the scientific perspective. This page, (& sub-pages,) deals with the specifics of Yellowstone.
