THE NIGHTS ARE LONGER NOW

at-late-night.jpgWith the sun slipping lower on the horizon, the nights are becoming longer and longer. The good news is that there is more time in front of the monitor. The bad news is there is too much time in front of the monitor.

I’ve added some new pages and maps to the site. The section on Yellowstone is coming along slowly. The monitoring is set up and doing fine. Also a note on big brother and our current state of the nation.

Recent Additions:

Big Brother | Bio-Invaders | The Exotic Species War | The 22’s | The 6mm’s – .243’s For Americans | From Lawless To Law-Abiding | Supervolcano | Hot Spot Bibliography | History Of Snowmobiles In Yellowstone | Wonderland Incorporated | and so it goes . . .
Most are works in progress but they had to be accessible – so here they are. These will be fleshed out as the long nights get longer.

IMPORTANT NOTE

The planning department at Yellowstone National Park has the draft winter use plan in review. There are currently 6 alternatives. One of the alternatives that is receiving quite a bit of attention is the one that suggests plowing the roads all winter. This would be cheaper for the park, allow more access, reduce the commercializing trend in the park, and provide for a truly year-round park. The public comment period ought to open some time in March of 2007.

=============

The sun has burst through the clouds and it’s just too nice of a day to work. It’s 10 degrees and dead still – sweater weather. I think I’ll go to Morning Glory for some very fresh coffee. Then off to the range, maybe I’ll get the 6/284 to the x’s.
